Roles and permissions

Member, cashier, manager and owner.

Every person has a role that decides what they can do on the device. Roles build on each other — each one can do everything the one below it can, plus more.

Member — runs their own tab; can self-serve and check their balance.
Cashier — opens the till and rings up sales for anyone.
Manager — also manages products and stock, sessions and reports.
Owner — full access, including settings, members and balances.

Sensitive actions ask for a PIN and check the person’s role before allowing them. You can tune which role is needed for some actions in Settings → Who can do what.
