Opening and closing the till

Sessions, the opening float, and the closing cash count.

Sales can only be rung up while the till has an open session. Opening a session records who opened it, in what mode, and when.

Opening

From the launcher, tap Till and enter your PIN.
Choose the mode for this session (see "Till modes").
In cash mode, enter the opening float (the cash you start with).

Closing

Tap Done in the top bar to end the session.
In cash mode, count the drawer and enter the amount.
The till shows the variance between expected and counted cash.

Idle sessions close themselves

If the till is left untouched for a while it closes the session automatically so a forgotten session doesn’t stay open overnight. You can set how long in Settings → Till.
